Spectroline FAQ’s

COOL SEAL SEALANT

Cool Seal CS-100CS treats up to 2 tons of cooling and the CS-2CS treats up to 8 Tons of cooling. What product deals above 8 tons?

Cool seal works in mls/ton, anything above 8 Tons can easily be calculated, 1 Ton = 3.5kw

Can the sealant work with all refrigerants, e.g HFC/CFC/HCFC/A2L and Hydrocarbons?

Yes very good with all refrigerants, not recommended for Ammonia

Can the sealant be used on all refrigeration systems, e.g commercial and domestic?

Yes Cool Seal is designed for small porous and pitted leaks so general rule is that it works better on small system leaks.

What size hole and pressures will Cool Seal repair?

This cannot be quantified as there are too many outside interferences which can cause a difference in state of the Cool Seal e.g pressure, temperature, location of leak etc.

Will it react or breakdown with any moisture in the system?

It will not breakdown or react with moisture in the system, Cool seal is oil based and designed not to react with moisture in the system, any reactions with moisture can kill a system and cause blockages which is what a lot of the competition products are made up of. Superseal has an anti-moisture chemical in as their sealant product alone can cause blockages

As with the Dyes is the Cool Seal tested by all major manufacturers?

Currently it is not, however it has never caused any damage of blockages to systems or valves as it is oil based and has the same properties as refrigeration oil.

What happens if a line bursts on a system containing Cool Seal?

Cool Seal mixes with the compressor oil so on a catastrophic leak if all oil is retained cool seal will stay in the system, if lost then a new batch of cool seal will need to be applied

SPECTROLINE DYES

Do the injectors from the cool seal product also work with the dyes?

Yes they both work for Dyes and cool Seal, it is advised that a separate hose is used to prevent contamination.

Do you have a scalable table for how much dye should be used to suit a certain size of system.

Yes in the instructions there is a full conversion chart for how much Dye will suit a system however as the Dye is made up of high grade refrigeration oil you cannot add too much. Too little would just make it slightly harder to find but not a major issue.

Can the dyes work in all systems and refrigerants HFC/CFC/HCFC/A2L and Hydrocarbons and commercial, industrial and domestic?

Yes

Does the dye have a life span in the system?

The life span of the Dye and Cool Seal is based on the life of the compressor oil, as long as the oil is good then so is the Dye
